Utility bills are due on the 15th ($5 late fee after), last day to pay is the 27th, cut off is the 28th of each month ($20 reconnect fee). For your convenience, there is a drop box on the side of the Municipal Building.

Rabies Alert! - Monday, June 15, 2015

A Fox Tested Positive For Rabies In This Area

This occurred near Pine Street and East Main Street outside Town of Haw River. If you live in this area and were bitten, scratched or believe that you may have been exposed to this fox contact the health department at (336) 570-6367 ext. 329 immediately.

If you live in this area and have outside pets, you should examine pets for any wounds that may have come from contact with this fox and notify animal control or the health department.

It is North Carolina law that cats and dogs be vaccinated against rabies. Rabies vaccination protects not only your pet, but also helps to protect you and your family.

For more information or questions about rabies control and vaccinations requirements, contact the health department’s Environmental Health office at (336) 570-6367.

Pickup Date Changes - Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Brush/Yard Waste  and Heavy Trash Collection

Effective April 1, 2015, burning is not allowed.   We will pick up bagged leaves and clippings, and tree limbs on Mondays.

Burn Season starts October 1st every year and ends March 30th.


Heavy Trash Collection is on the first Tuesday of the every month.

Ensuring a sustainable future for the Town of Haw River is one of the reasons why the Mayor, Town Council, and Town Staff are initiating a Community Cleanup Program.
